  • Meeting started at 3:58pm. Opening prayer was said by King Solomon Atobrah.
  • Scofray Nana Yaw Yeboah, the association’s president welcomed all members to the first meeting in 2017.

Multi-Purpose Assembly Hall and Get-together fundraising

The President made the meeting understand that 2017 was supposed to be the year of MPAH commissioning. However, due to financial constraints we may not accomplished the target, but all the same he made all old students who had contributed one way all the other to the project to pat themselves on the back.
The meeting agreed that our Get-together/fundraising in aid of the raising of the columns should be held on 25th March, 2017.
The first generation group suggested that we find another day in the year for those in the diaspora who are willing to come and join us for the fundraising. The meeting therefore, agreed to have another Get-together/fundraising before the anniversary. The meeting agreed on a second date for that purpose.
The second fundraising get-together dubbed Diaspora Get-together/fundraising is also scheduled to come off 1st July, 2017.
The venue for the two activities will be at the GBC Club House.

Adoption of the columns

Members suggested that we re-post the details on various platforms as a sort of reminding members again on the adoption. Another suggestion was made in the area of breaking down the material contents in the columns for individual sponsorship. The meeting however, agreed that to avoid complexities in the raising of funds, we should discard that idea, but year groups could adopt various columns for sponsorship.
The meeting finally agreed that we should adopt the name IRON ROD BAAKOPE for the aforementioned fundraising programs.
The meeting also suggested we repost the column type, quantities and respective cost for the various year groups to discuss and adopt according to their strength.
Please, find below the various columns and their respective cost.

The design of the anniversary clothes for the old students should be posted on the various platforms for members to see the adopted design. The executive will get the selling price and put it on respective platforms within the week. All those interested should submit their names and money to their respective coordinators before ordering.

Orderliness on Mother Platform

Snr. Kwabena Aidoo (BMJ) advised that there should be some sort of guidelines on how we post certain things on the international platform. He said sometimes when discussions concerning the purpose to which the platform was set are ongoing; some people interject with post that has no relation to the discussions which sways old boys’ minds off the issues. The meeting agreed with him and advised that we should make sure before we post any jokes or the likes which has nothing to do with MPAH, we  check whether no discussion are ongoing before we interject with unrelated issues.

Time with the president

Another member suggested that we should have something like “time with the president” whereby the various groups will add the president at some point in time on their platforms if they want to have issues clarified.

The president thanked all who were able to attend Toway father’s funeral.
